Cast Alnico magnets, which are alumium nickel-cobaltiron alloys, are the most established and windely used magnet materials. Because of their high flux density and superior temperature stability, cast alnico have been accepted in the widest range of application.
Sintered Alnico magnet, which are also alumium nickel-cobaltiron alloys, is usually restricted to smaller sizes. It has slightly lower magnetic properties, but better mechanical strength than cast alnico magnet. Sintered Alnico magnet is widely used in all kinds of sensors, meters, controller speedometer and other applications.
Alnico magnets can be both anisotropic and isotropic. Anisotropic grades are oriented in the manufacturing direction and must be magnetized in the direction of orientation. Isotropic grades are not oriented and can be magnetized in any
