Properties Chemical compound, a colorless-to-gray, rhombohedra crystalline substance that occurs in nature as the mineral mascagnite. Soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol or liquid ammonia.
Uses Produced commercially by passing ammonia, obtained from destructive distillation of coal, into sulfuric acid, used as a fertilizer, preparing other ammonium compounds and for fireproofing.

Storage Stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Acids and bases must be stored separately. Storage areas should be equipped with suitable spillage materials.
