high hardnes,wear-resistance,Processing good surface finish etc
1.Better wear properties than carbide
2.Longer tool life leads to less machine down time
3.Higher cutting speeds result in greater productivity
4.Superior surface finish eliminates many secondary operations.
1) Processing good surface finish, much much better than carbide,so if your customer have strict requirement to the surface finish, you can recommend the cermet. such as the molding of mobile cover, the keyboard of the computer, etc...
2) It is very suitable for the special material which was difficult to be process, such as the die steel processing ( 45# steel, etc...) 1pc parts can process working 3.5 hours under 8000 high speed turn, the wearing is only 0.02mm, the effect is great.
3) The cermet is Ti(C,N) base, Under the high temperature processing, the cermet would occur titanium oxide which with lubrication, and protection the die, it is advantageous to the machining. If use the carbide rods, the tungsten trioxide would Increase the friction, it is not conducive to the machining , so you can recommend the cermet;-)
