CLAYMINTON 54 Traditional Organoclay (Rheological additive)
CLAYMINTON 54 is one traditional organoclay which is modified with fine Bentonite and special chemicals. It is designed for medium to low polarity solvent based system. It is particularly suitable for coatings, inks, adhesives. CLAYMINTON 54performs outstanding thickening, anti-settling property, sag control and storage stability.
Advantages and Features
CLAYMINTON 54presents excellent thickening and dispersibility with good KU and Brookfield viscosities building. Meanwhile, it also provides significant sag control, pigment suspension with good flow property. It is recommended to long or medium alkyd paint, acrylic paint or other low polarity coatings or inks system.

CLAYMINTON 54 needs a bit stronger shear rate during the production for better dispersibility. Two incorporation procedures will be recommended as follows:
1）Pre-gel addition:It can be made into 8% pregel before using and then add the pregel into the mill base. The detailed procedure is

General Use Level
The typical dosage will be around 0.3%-1.0% on total formulation. We strongly propose that the ladder study will be taken in different system for better achievement in between performance and cost.
Handling and Storage
