The water separated out at the demulsification stage at the oilfield-processing facilities contains residual oil and finely dispersed solids. Flocculants work in conjunction with gravity settling equipment, hydro cyclones, centrifuges, flotation devices, filtration equipment, and the like by creating a “floc” onto which oil droplets and particles are absorbed. The floc is then separated and returned to crude production.
The product is made from organic polymer with inorganic cations. The cations can partly dissociate in water and produce charges. Floc will be formed by combining various solid suspensions in wastewater. These products are widely used in oilfield wastewater purification and industrial wastewater treatment
