PCBN is a blank which consists of polycrystalline CBN layer and tungsten carbide substrate. It combines the high hardness, high thermal stability of CBN and the high shock resistance of tungsten carbide. The cutting tools made from PCBN are suitable for machining high hardness ferrous metals (HRC45-68) and other alloys difficult to cut.
HALNN PCBN inserts suitable for the high-speed and super high-speed precision machining of hardened steel of HRC>45, wear-resistant cast iron, heat-resistant alloys of HRC>35, pearlite grey cast iron, nodular cast iron, Fe-based P/M sintered materials and hardened cast iron.
HALNN PCBN are available in the standard shape of round, and can be processed per customer's request in a wide variety of sizes and shapes including rectangular, square, triangle, and fan-shaped (semi-circle) and so on.
PCBN is shortened from Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride. PCBN inserts are made from PCBN as row material, through cutting, brazing, grinding and production processes. PCBN inserts are always used for finish and min-finish machining ferrous metal, including cast iron, hardened steel and other hard wearable material. PCBN inserts always perform perfectly when machining the above material. Using PCBN inserts, you can get a high degree of finish of the work piece surface, even can achieve that replacing grinding with turning. Meanwhile, PCBN inserts have much longer service life than normal carbide cutting tools, so that PCBN tools can cut down the production cost distinctly. PCBN tools can stand quite high cutting speed with the stable performance therefore improving production efficiency.
