Blue Sky solar and wind hybrid lights utilizing energy subtracted from solar and wind to power the lights provide an alternative option to street lighting. Compared to solar street lights, hybrid lights offer higher reliability due to a complementary effect between solar and wind, e.g. in circumstances there’s little solar irradiation for a few days, and this will cause huge problems to a solar only street light. However, once there’s wind present, a hybrid system can still sustain without any problem.
A Blue Sky solar and wind hybrid system consists of a wind turbine, a PV module,an LED lamp, two pieces of batteries, a hybrid light controller, battery housing, metalparts and cables. The configuration of the system varies according to different requirements of lighting and solar & wind conditions in the target installing location.
