"A Penja, small town at 40,000 inhabitants, white pepper made the 'pride' of the population, the same as the Bordeaux in France for example. Indeed, this condiment grown on volcanic soil is the first product of sub-Saharan Africa received in 2013 of a geographical indication (GI), an appellation of origin and of quality awarded by the European Union.
