PRESENTATION AND PRODUCTION OF WINE
THE CANNISSES rouge is one of the oldest PDO wines BANDOL, one of the oldest appellations of Provence, recognized for its aromatic and nutritious qualities. Enclosed in a vast amphitheater of mountains between Sainte-Baume and Mont-Caume and surrounded by hills, the vineyard extends over 8 communes around the city of Bandol, terraces on some 1 100 ha of silico-limestone soils. The red wine CANNISSES is made from the varietal-king of the PDO Bandol, the Mourvèdre, which is the majority (80%) in the assembly. The exceptional quality of the Mourvèdre tannins and the intensity of its aromas, further developed by an obligatory passage of at least 18 months in casks, bring the wine its power and make it a magnificent wine of guard. AOP Bandol is famous for its red wines and rosé wines. Made from Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsaut grapes, these wines benefit from whitish and very arid soils rich in siliceous elements. The red wine CANNISSES is produced with very low yields and is only put on the market from the 1st of March following the harvest, after careful breeding throughout the winter.
